Brian Douglas Tomlin, age 50, died in Austin, Texas on Wednesday June 4, 2025.

Brian was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico and moved to Austin, Texas in 1994 to play music with his friends. He took classes at Austin Community College, transferred to University of Texas at Austin, and graduated summa cum laude in Spanish Literature in 2000. He played bass and guitar with dozens of bands, including I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness; Cold Hard Facts of Life; The Transgressors; Multitude of the Slothful; Swatch Out; My Golden Calf; and with Larry Cooper and Rich Hopkins. He enjoyed the New York Mets, Steely Dan, Saturday Night Live, science fiction, philosophy, and Star Trek.

He was a Senior Manager of Software Development at Expedia Group. He had been with the company since 2012, beginning as a Software Developer.

Brian is survived by parents Cheryl and Tommy Tomlin, his brother Nicholas Tomlin, and his children, Ian and Jewel Tomlin.
